Bilang Sagot kina Korina Sanchez at Ted Failon

Continue Reading

PROGUN Statement on the Norway Killings

The Peaceful Responsible Owners of Guns (PROGUN) condemns in the strongest possible terms the mass shooting committed by a purportedly deranged gunman at a youth camp at Norway. Police investigations indicate that the same suspected gunman may be responsible for the bombing of the Oslo government offices the other day, likewise killing scores of people. We send our condolences and sympathies to the victims and the people of Norway. While the victims deserve our utmost sympathy and condolence, we likewise realize on a practical level that criminals will always be with us and will always commit crimes and prey upon innocent and helpless victims, in every country in the world, and using whatever means possible to commit crimes. Human nature being what it is, there will always be those who are born or raised to be deranged, mentally imbalanced, sociopaths, and bent on inflicting harm on others. Criminality and lawlessness is a fact of life which can strike in even in those places and countries which claim to be the most peaceful and crime free countries in the world. Neither the reputed efficiency of the Norwegian police or the reputed "crime free" environment of Norway prevented such a tragedy from happening. Continue Reading

Deranged Norwegian Gunman kills 80 at youth camp.

(OSLO, Norway) — A Norwegian who dressed as a police officer to gun down summer campers killed at least 80 people at an island retreat, horrified police said early Saturday. It took investigators several hours to begin the realize the full scope of Friday's massacre, which followed an explosion in nearby Oslo that killed seven and that police say was set off by the same suspect.

The mass shootings are among the worst in history. With the blast outside the prime minister's office, they formed the deadliest day of terror in Western Europe since the 2004 Madrid train bombings killed 191. Continue Reading

Firearms for self-protection after a disaster

I'm announcing the launch of a new preparedness website: preparemanila.org. My friend who started the website created it in response to the lack of Philippine-centric information resources. (He noticed that most of the websites were for the US.) Although the website is aimed for Manila residents, most of the information will also apply to the Philippines in general. Firearms ownership and preparedness go hand-in-hand so I'm sure that readers of this website will also find preparemanila.org to be useful. Of particular interest would be the following article:
Firearms for self-protection after a disaster.
preparemanila.org is a PROGUN supporter. Continue Reading

Indian high court rules that citizens entitled to firearms for self-defence

It seems that the Indian pro-firearms movement is gaining ground. While there may be problems when it comes to official red-tape for license processing and ammunition purchasing, at least they are moving forward when it comes to securing their freedoms. Let us hope that we in the Philippines do not continue moving backwards. Read more: Can't deny gun licence citing law & order: HC. Continue Reading
