No PTCFORs being issued: An Extended and Continuing Illegal Gun Ban

As of this writing, the Comelec gun ban has ended more than a month ago. To date, no permits-to-carry Firearms Outside of residence (PTCFORs) have been issued by the Chief PNP, Gen. Jesus Verzosa. Likewise, everyone should be made aware that the PNP is now charging  P700 for permits-to-transport (PTT), up from the usual P500 (P360 is the official fee). If you pay only the official fee of P360, you get a ONE DAY PTT valid only for ONE TRIP from your house to gun club and back. That’s it.

The dealers at the gun show have expressed similar alarm. During this ongoing gun show, sales are down considerably because potential gun buyers are concerned regarding the non-issuance of PTCFORs and the restrictive issuance of PTTs. For what use is a gun if you simply have to keep it at home are are unable to fire it.

Thus, in effect, we are still in an EXTENDED and CONTINUING ILLEGAL GUN BAN.

A country wherein only the President and the mayor of Makati City can go out and enjoy the shooting sports, is no good for gun owners. We have been patient enough these past months since the Comelec Gun Ban started in January. To date, we still cannot carry our guns and fire them in shooting ranges. Enough is enough. If we fought for change, the time to implement change is NOW.

PRESIDENT NOYNOY YOU ARE A SHOOTER. WE LOOK TO YOU FOR RELIEF. THE FATE AND FUTURE OF THE SHOOTING COMMUNITY IS IN YOUR HANDS. WE HAVE LONG SUFFERED AND CONTINUE TO SUFFER UNDER THE YOKE OF OPPRESSIVE GUN POLICIES. IT’S ABOUT TIME CHANGE SHOULD BE MADE. LET US DO IT NOW.
