According to the article, Detroit Police Chief James Craig credits armed citizens for the drop in crime:
  • Detroit has experienced 37 percent fewer robberies than it did last year
  • 22 percent fewer break-ins of businesses and homes
  • 30 percent fewer carjackings in 2014 than during the same period last year

Why would anyone need guns in a modern society?

“Only persons in authority should carry firearms”

This video reminded me of a comment made a few months ago by Dante Jimenez, founding chairman of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC). Mr Jimenez believes that only persons in authority should be allowed to carry firearms in public. Around the time of the extended gun ban debate, Jimenez said, "Let us put a stop to this stupid idea of giving special treatment to special citizens. Where are the police when you need them?

Today, it was reported on the news that Atty. Dante Untalan was shot dead in San Carlos, Pangasinan. This killing happened in spite of the current TOTAL GUN ban that we are in due to the upcoming elections. The theory is that Atty. Untalan, who was a Public Attorney's Office lawyer was killed due to a case that he was handling.It is incidents such as this that prompts me to ask the question: where were the police when this happened?
