The Police Regional Office-9’s Public Information Center identified the fatality as Engr. Edgar Yeban y Balagot, 40, married. He was a resident of San Pedro Drive, Ayala, this city and was temporarily renting a room in Ipil.

A police report disclosed that Yeban was beheaded by Arcadio Caangay, 27, married, of Siay, and an unidentified companion.

Initial investigation disclosed that Caangay and his companion went to visit his wife, Eldie Caangay, who is residing at the boarding house of Leona Pitos where Yeban was also renting an adjacent room.

Caangay confronted Yeban whom suspected as having an illicit affair with his wife Eldie. A heated argument ensued between them prompting Eldie to run outside to seek assistance from the police. Few minutes later, Pitos heard a commotion inside the room of Yeban.

Police added that Pitos later saw Arcadio and his companion rushing out of Yeban’s room holding a bolo with blood stains.

Responding policemen swooped down on the place and found Yeban dead inside his room with his head almost severed from the body.

Police have launched a manhunt operation for the arrest of the killers.
