CAMP Olivas, Pampanga — Police are looking into the death of a young woman whose charred body was found inside a burned beach house in Bgy. Lower Kalaklan, Olongapo City on Sunday.
Police Regional Office-3 director Chief Supt. Raul D. Petrasanta described the victim as about 20 to 25 years old and five feet in height.
Petrasanta said the victim has a deep injury in her head probably caused by a hard object when her body was retrieved by policemen from one of the cottages at Halfmoon Beach Resort at around 6 a.m.
Olongapo City police director Senior Supt. Rodolfo Recomono has ordered an in-depth investigation into the case after learning that the victim has a male companion at the beach house before she was murdered.
Recomono said a certain Sonny Nacincino, the resort’s chief maintenance officer, discovered the fire who immediately informed the police.
One of the witnesses, security guard Christopher Pascual, told investigators that the victim rented the beach house and checked-in at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday along with a male companion who logged in his name as Marvin Fernandez.
Another witness, Angelina Gonzaga who also works at the resort, told probers that between 12 midnight and 1 a.m., she heard the couple engaged in a heated argument which lasted for over five hours.
Several minutes later, the beach house the couple rented was already on fire.
Policemen, who responded to the crime scene, discovered the charred body of the woman while her male companion was nowhere to be found.
