Young fisher shot dead

A young fisherman was shot dead by the security escort of a fishing vessel off Labuan at dawn last Wednesday.
Police identified the fatality as Akbar Macling Sabdani, 17, single. He sustained a gunshot wound in the left part of the body and was taken to the hospital where was declared dead on arrival.
A police report disclosed that Sabdani together with his elder brother, Jamadil Sabdani, 19, were fishing aboard a banca near the Lourdes 4, a fishing vessel.
Jamadil told the police that they were paddling their banca away from the fishing vessel when they heard a gunfire coming from the big vessel.
Jamadil saw his brother slumped in the banca with a bullet wound in the body.
He told the police that he rushed his wounded brother to the Labuan Hospital for treatment but the physicians pronounced him DOA.
