Case investigators PO2s Art Francisse M. Oliva and Herbert C. Lorico identified the victim as Joseph Briones Banate, 44, married, of Bgy. Maugat. 

A report said that at around 10 o’clock the other night, a local resident called up the Tanauan City police that a man was stabbed dead in the barangay.

Police investigators were dispatched and proceeded to the hospital.

The victim was inside their house when two unidentified men wearing masks barged in and suddenly stabbed him several times in the body and fled. 

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
