A WOMAN was killed by a suspected robber after she refused to hand over her handbag in Taguig City Monday afternoon.

Anna Padilla, 53, of 45-C Acacia St., Pio Felipe, Lower Bicutan, Taguig City was walking around 4 p.m. along the corner of Samaba Pagkalinawan and Avocado Sts, when a man wearing a hat, sunglasses and black jacket approached her and immediately took the handbag. The victim fought back prompting the suspect to shoot her in the head.

Police said the suspect did not consummate the robbery because of the presence of bystanders. The bag contains documents for houses she leased and the lists of people to whom she had been lending money.

The victim’s money amounting to P34,000 was still tucked at her waist along with three rings and one pair of earrings.
