KIDAPAWAN CITY — A 53-year-old trader hospitalized after he was shot by riding-in-tandem armed men in Kabacan, North Cotabato around 8 a.m., Sunday.
Superintendent Leo Ajero, Kabacan police chief, identified the victim as Norma Pigcaulan, a dry goods store owner in Kabacan.
Reports said the victim was standing outside her store when one of the two suspects shot her in the right chest.
Ajero’s men recovered from the crime scene two slugs from a .45 caliber handgun.
The suspects, thinking their target was dead, immediately fled towards Pikit town in North Cotabato.
The victim, after she was brought to Kabacan Medical Specialist Center, was transferred to another hospital for further treatment.
Witnesses, according to police, could not give clear description of the attackers and the motorcycle they used.
Records from the police showed that Pigcaulan was the third woman who became a victim of gunmen riding-in-tandem in Kabacan town since 2012. At least 20 shooting incidents happened in Kabacan town since 2012.
