MANILA — A woman, with her throat slit, was found dead inside her house in Barangay Salvacion, Quezon City before Wednesday noon, police said.
The victim, identified as Marissa Gatmaitan, was found inside her bedroom at the second floor of her house along Ipo Street.
Her mother-in-law, Noemi Pineda, was found wounded and was rushed to the hospital.
Initial investigation showed that four men entered Gatmaitan’s house and hit Pineda with a hard object on the face before slitting the throat of Gatmaitan.
Police said it is possible that one of the victims knew the suspects since residents reportedly heard one of them saying “Tama na, Jay. Tama na, Jay.”
Authorities said they are also eyeing robbery as the motive since some drawers inside the house were found open.
Police said the Mitsubishi Adventure with plate number WGB 738 used by the suspects as a getaway vehicle was found abandoned in the parking area of Sto. Domingo Church along Quezon Avenue.
Investigation and hot pursuit operations against the suspects were ongoing, as of posting. — Reports from Robert Mano, dzMM; Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
