A woman was attacked by her sister-in-law for allegedly spreading gossip in Pasig City yesterday morning.

Victim Marry Ann Indiano, 24, of 09B Ipil-Ipil St., Nagpayong, Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, was rushed to Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH). She sustained multiple stab wounds in the body.

The suspect, identified as  Cristel Ren, 24, of the same address, was arrested and detained at Pasig police jail.

Investigation conducted by PO3 Rolando Anselmo Jr., of the Pasig Police Criminal Investigation Unit, showed the incident happened  at 10:15 a.m.

Police said Ren arrived at the house and confronted the victim for reportedly spreading rumors that she was stealing money from the bakery business of their family.

Prior to the incident, Indiano was sitting in front of her house and talking with a neighbor.

Suddenly, the suspect arrived and uttered defamatory words against the victim and accused her of spreading rumors.

Instead of arguing,  the victim got inside the house and closed the door but the suspect, along with her lover, identified as Jonathan de Leon, pushed the door and got in.

De Leon allegedly held the victim’s two hands while the suspect stabbed her repeatedly.

Residents in the area who saw the incident grabbed the knife from the suspect.

The victim was taken to the hospital while the suspect was apprehended by barangay officials.

The suspect is facing charges of frustrated homicide before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
