Killed was Arlene Endino and wounded was Romeo Endino, a volunteer of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU). Arlene sustained bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot, while Romeo suffered four gunshot wounds and was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

Initial investigation showed that Romeo and his wife were on their way to a CAFGU outpost around 3 p.m. when a man armed with an assault rifle surfaced opened fire on them.

Arlene’s wounds were fatal while Romeo managed to hide despite the gunshot wounds.

The gunman left thinking that Romeo was also killed.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo said that long standing dispute was the motive behind the killing.
