“OVER my dead body!” This thought consumed Roma Naito, 40, as she held on to her sling bagwhich robbers on a motorbike had snatched from her. Sand instantly filled her eyes while her bones cracked as the vehicle dragged her. Yet the victim refused to let go of her valuables.
Naito, of 536 Calbayog, Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City, however, eventually let go of her bag and let the suspects escape. She is now undergoing treatment for contusions and bruises at the Victor Potenciano Hospital.
Insp. Heculano Mago Jr., chief of the Criminal Investigation Section, said the incident occurred 9:15 p.m. Wednesday along Sierra Madre St., Highway Hills in Mandaluyong City.
Police gathered that Naito and her sister Joshieldiron Caalem were walking on the street when the suspects on board a motorcycle appeared.
The backrider grabbed the sling bag of the victim. Naito, however, held on to her bag and she was dragged by the vehicle.
The suspects escaped with the bag containing an Iphone5, P30,000 in cash, a Gucci watchworth P30,000 and assorted jewelries worth approximately P50,000.
