Police identified the victim as Hadja Tanbahaya Laja. She sustained multiple stab wounds in the different parts of the body.

A police report quoted Hadja Alma, 62, younger sister of Tanbahaya to have said that around 7 a.m., she heard her sister’s telephone ringing and not being answered.

Hadja Alma decided to go to her sister’s house to check. When she reached the house she found that all the doors were locked. She then sought assistance from some neighbors to break and destroy one of the windows. When she finally get inside the house, she was shocked to see the body of her sister on the floor soaked in blood.

Ocular investigation showed that several valuables were missing believed to have been taken by the killers after they killed her.

Investigators were however looking into other possible angles.
