BACOOR, Cavite ­- A barangay tanod (watchman) was wounded when he was stabbed by a house painter during a hostage-taking incident before midnight Thursday on Sampaguita St., Luzville Subdivision, Barangay Real, this city, police said yesterday.

Robert B. Peralta, 42, sustained a wound in the arm and was treated at the Las Piñas District Hospital. The hostage-taker ­ Allan Floyd B. Llaneta, 36, single, of Sgt. Dantes St., Kawit, Cavite ­ gave up to the police after a negotiation in the area.

The surrender came after Llaneta, who was armed with a kitchen knife, held 19-year-old student John Kennedy F. Quilaneta and a 65-year-old relative named Romualda inside their house. Llaneta reportedly stabbed Peralta while he was in the vicinity. (Anthony Giron)
