SAN ILDEFONSO, Bulacan — Police are hot on the trail of an unidentified gunman who shot a truck driver over a minor altercation along Cagayan Valley Road in Bgy. Malipampang Thursday afternoon.

The victim, who was shot several times, was identified as Junard Sagun,  30, a resident of Kaybitin San Gabriel, Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

Investigation showed the incident happened at around 4:45 p.m.  when the victim, who was on board a Fuso 10-wheeler truck with plate number RHZ-442, accidentally bumped a Mitsubishi Montero.

The suspect alighted from  the Montero and shot the victim several times.

The victim managed to drive his vehicle but bumped an acacia tree.

Sagun was rushed to the San Miguel District Hospital in San Miguel, Bulacan, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The cadaver of the victim was brought to Bulacan Funeral in Bgy. Sapang Putol, San Ildefonso, for autopsy.     

According to witnesses, they saw other persons on board the Mitsubishi Montero with long firearms.

Upon receipt of the report, elements of San Ildefonso police were immediately dispatched to conduct operation for the possible apprehension of the suspects.         Manny Balbin
