The owner and driver of a tricycle was shot dead by one of two motorcycle riding gunmen at the interior part of Marcos Drive, Putik last Friday night.
The fatality was identified as Joselito Almadin, 36, married, of Sinunuc. He was shot in the head and back with one bullet exiting the abdomen.
Almadin died while undergoing treatment at the Zamboanga City Medical Center.
A police report disclosed that Almadin was driving his tricycle heading for the Lobregat Highway after ferrying a passenger at the Marcos Drive when he accidentally hit a motorcycle with two men aboard at a dimly lit spot. Almadin then figured in a heated argument with the two men. When he realized that the two men were armed with guns, Almadin alighted from the tricycle and ran away but one of them shot him in the back. When he fell on the ground, the gunman approached and shot him in the head.
The killers left the place before residents arrived at the scene.
Police recovered a slug and two spent shells of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo immediately directed the Divisoria Police Station to dig deeper into the case and arrest the killers.
