BONGABON, Nueva Ecija — A tricycle driver was peppered with bullets by unidentified riding-in-tandem gunmen here Tuesday night.

The fatality was identified as Joel Palingayan, 37, alias Talahib, of Bgy. Rizal, this town.

Police said Palingayan was at the terminal on Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road in Bgy. Commercial waiting for his passengers at around 6 p.m. when the two armed suspects on board a motorcycle arrived and shot him several times, causing his immediate death.

He was declared dead on arrival at the district hospital.

Probers recovered 10 empty shells for cal. .45 pistol and a deformed slug for an unknown caliber at the scene.

Police are still clueless on the motive behind the killing.
