MANILA, Philippines – A 50-year-old travel agency owner was shot and seriously wounded Wednesday evening just outside her office in Manila.

Ana Grace Rosales, owner of the China Golden Bridge Travel Agency at 569 Hormiga Street in Binondo, sustained a wound back of the right shoulder and was confined at the Jose Abad Santos Mother and Child Hospital.

Police Officer 2 Leandro Gatdula of the Manila Police District Meisic station 11 said the shooting happened at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Gatdula said that Rosales had just stepped out of her office when a man followed her and suddenly shot her in the back before fleeing toward Juan Luna Street.

The wounded Rosales was taken by her liaison officer Marlon Magsano to the nearest hospital.

MPD station 11 commander Superintendent Ferdinand Quirante ruled out robbery as a motive for the attack, noting that her belongings were intact.

“She did not lose anything. Nothing was taken from her by the suspect (sic),” he told the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
