MANILA, Philippines – A traffic aide in Batangas was shot dead early Friday morning reportedly over an illicit love affair, police said.

Wilmar Arellano, 34, was shot dead along the national road in Barangay Zone 2, Taal town at around 6:30 a.m., a report from Batangas police showed.

Initial investigation showed that the suspects were two men on board a motorcycle, who fled towards the town of Sta. Teresita after the attack.

Arellano was rushed to the Batangas Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police said the attack could be related to an illicit love affair the victim was having.
