A 36-year-old barangay kagawad was shot dead by a still unknown suspect while chatting with his friends in Tondo, Manila the other night.

Lord Alfred Elmido, of Gate 17 Area D, Parola Compound, Tondo, died after receiving a bullet in the head and back.

Det. Mario Asilo of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Homicide Section said the incident took place at around  7 p.m. near a store along Gate 17.

The victim was chatting with his lady friends when the suspect appeared from behind and shot him in the back.

Though wounded, the victim managed to flee but was pursued by the suspect who finished him off by shooting in the head.

The police are still looking into the possible motive while trying to establish the suspect’s identity.
