The fatality was identified as Roman Ambucas Porman Combal, 58, married.

Investigation showed that Combal was on his way home from a market, when a man appeared and without any word stabbed him. He sustained multiple stab wounds on the different parts of his body.

Police said the motive of the incident was personal dispute in which Combal’s son was involved.

On the other hand, another barangay tanod was shot and wounded at Nilabo, Rizal, Zamboanga del Norte last Wednesday.

Wounded was Rodelio Sarapan Bulanguita, married, 33.

Police said Bulanguita was relaxing at a social hall after his duty at a disco dance at their barangay when Jay Brian Javier Mefran, 19, shot him. Bulanguita sustained a gunshot wound on the upper part of the left shoulder and was brought to the Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center.

Mefran was arrested and detained at the Rizal Municipal Police Station.
