MANILA, Philippines – Two suspected hired killers were arrested in Pasay City on Tuesday evening.
Suspects Mark Tenorio and Sylvester Lazo were arrested after they were caught at a checkpoint riding a plate-less motorcycle.
Upon further inspection, police discovered two .8-caliber pistols from the suspects.
A couple positively identified Tenorio and Lazo as the two alleged hired killers who had been roving in front of their house.
“Kilala namin yung mga tao sa lugar namin… So sila lang yung hindi pamilyar,” said “John”. “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mga checkpoint na iyan, malaking bagay pala yang mga checkpoint.”
A photo of the couple and a supposed floor plan of their house were found from the suspects’ possession, bolstering suspicions that the arrested men are hired guns.
Pasay Police chief Col. Rodolfo Llorca said the two also have pending murder cases in Manila and Makati.
Tenorio and Lazo are facing frustrated murder charges and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in relation to the Omnibus Election Code. – report from Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News
