Kenneth Capili, 21, of Nazareno Street, Tondo, was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Maynila due to a gunshot wound in the head.

Reports said the suspect and his police escorts were on their way to the hospital for a checkup when he reportedly grabbed the firearm of one of the lawmen, prompting PO1 Rommel Fajardo to shoot him. 

Authorities have yet to conduct an inquiry whether Capili was salvaged. 

Meanwhile, Mayor Alfredo Lim yesterday presented to media the alleged cohorts of Capili.

Lim  identified the suspects as Justin Bautista, 21, an HRM student of the Lyceum of the Philippines, and resident of 820 Jose Basa St., Tondo, and a 16-year-old student of Philippine College of Criminology.

Police recovered from the suspects the mobile phone and other personal belongings of victim Roxan Musngi, 20.

The three suspects robbed and stabbed dead Musngi last July 24 in Tondo while she was on her way home from hospital duty.

Capili was the first to fall Tuesday and pointed to Bautista and Jojo as his accomplices. 

Lim lauded the Manila Police District headed by Chief Supt. Rodolfo Magtibay and District Special Project Unit head Senior Supt. Alejandro Gutierrez for the resolution of the crime.
