UNIDENTIFIED gunmen seized the provincial treasurer of Sulu early evening Monday  hisresidence in Patikul town, police said yesterday.

The suspects, armed with automatic rifles and pistols, grabbed 54-year-old Jesus Cabillin inside his house near the Capitol Site in Bgy. Bangkal, Patikul 6:45 p.m. Monday before dragging him into a waiting Tamaraw jeepney.

Witnesses said the suspects were last seen heading towards Mt. Bangkal.

Combined agents of the Patikul, Indanan and Talipao Municipal Police Stations and the Special Action Force of the Philippine National Police have launched a massive hunt for the suspects.

Marine troopers have also joined the search for the victim and his captors, said local police chief Sr. Insp. Conrad Gutierrez.                  Alfred Dalizon
