A STEVEDORE belonging to the jailhouse gang, Sigue-Sigue Sputnik, was shot dead by an unidentified man early Wednesday morning in Manila for still unknown reasons, the police said. Daniel D. Manalo, 29, a resident of Muelle Street in Binondo, was crossing Recto corner Juan Luna Street with his live-in partner, Minerva V. Binibini, when he was shot twice in the body. The gunman, described by witnesses as about 40 years old, of slim build, with dark skin and between 5’7”-5’9” in height, escaped by running toward Abad Santos Avenue, a report by PO1 James G. Lagasca said. The motive for the shooting was still under investigation. A scene-of-the-crime operations team led by Chief Insp. Erickson Calabocal examined the scene for possible clues to the killer’s identity while Manalo’s body was transferred to Harold Funeral Parlor for autopsy. DJ Yap
