A 48-year-old man, said to be a member of the “Sputnik Gang,” was stabbed dead yesterday morning in Paco, Manila.       

Pablo Ocampo, of 1647 D. Santiago St., Paco, was positively identified by his niece Dorris.       

Dorris told the police that she was awakened by screams from her neighbors at around 3:45 a.m., prompting her to rush outside only to find the victim already dying after sustaining three stabwounds in the body. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital where he was rushed.

SPO3 Glenzor Vallejo of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the victim was last seen alive at around 5 p.m. of August 25 while having a drinking spree with other members of the gang.

A follow-up operation is underway to establish the identity of the suspects and the motive behind the killing.
