A security guard detailed at South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) shot dead an alleged member of “Agaw-Armas Gang” who tried to snatch his service firearm Thursday night in Taguig City.

Emilio Depala, 24, of Lifeguard Archangel Security Agency and residing at 2209 Soter St., Sta. Ana, Manila, surrendered to the police after shooting to death Noel Trillanes, alias “Kulet,” 31, of Blk. 29, Lot 19, Office 28 Southville, Bgy. Aguado, Trece Martires, Cavite. Trillanes died on the spot from a gunshot wound in the belly.

Taguig police investigator SPO1 Rodelio Abenojar said the incident happened at about 7:50 p.m. on Maricaban Creek, Sitio 2, Bgy. Fort Bonifacio.

Depala told police that he was on duty when the victim poked a gun at him and tried to grab his service firearm.

“Umatras ako para hindi niya makuha ang baril ko pero pinaputukan agad niya ako. Mabuti na lang at hindi ako tinamaan kaya na-kabunot ako ng aking baril at pinaputukan ko rin siya,” Depala said.

Depala then called the attention of his station commander, Panchito delos Santos, where he surrendered his cal. .38 service firearm before he was turned over to the police.
