Manila, Philippines – A security guard was killed while his colleague was wounded in a shooting incident in Quezon City the other day.

The victim, Michael Deguira, who was recently assigned to his post, died on the spot after succumbing to a bullet wound in the abdomen.

His colleague, Carlos dela Cruz, is reportedly in critical condition due to a bullet wound.

Initial investigation showed that the incident happened Sunday afternoon near the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) compound in Old Balara, Quezon City.

The two security guards of Manila Water and MWSS were on duty when the gunman arrived and shot them.

Dela Cruz was able to tell responding policemen that one of their co-workers shot them while he was being taken to the hospital.

Police are now conducting an investigation to determine the identity of the gunman based on the lead given by one of the victims.
