MANILA, Philippines— Unidentified gunmen fired at the Commission on Audit office along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City early Wednesday, police said.
Police Officer 1 Jayson Tolentino of Quezon City Police District-Station 6 said the shooting occurred before 9 a.m. No one was reported hurt in the incident.
“Ang initial information is may nagpaputok ng baril at tumama sa building [The initial information was shots were fired and these hit the building],” Tolentino said.
A radio report quoted Police Senior Superintendent Richard Albano, QCPD district director, as saying that two slugs from an unknown firearm were recovered inside the office of Assistant Director Minda Planas.
It remains unclear, however, if the attack was meant for Planas.
No other information was available as of posting time.
