TWO unidentified men engaged the police in a shootout in barangay Canamucan, Compostela town, northern Cebu on Friday night.
The two gunmen eluded arrest. No one was hurt in the incident but the police car used by SPO1 Larry Fernandez and PO2 Fedelito Jopia was hit in the bumper.
The policemen were patrolling sitio Gimbal when they saw two men acting suspiciously.
The policemen tried to approach the two men but they hurriedly boarded a motorcycle and drove off.
Police chased the two men and asked them to pull over. Instead of stopping, the two men fired at the policemen.
The policemen returned fire but missed.
When they lost sight of the two armed men, the two policemen alerted their counterparts in Danao City.
Danao police set up a road block but failed to intercept the two armed men.
