On or about 9:45 AM, July 4, 2013, a shooting incident transpired at Sitio Daboy, Barangay Sibulao, Zamboanga City, wherein, one Ricardo Carpio y Lanipa, of legal age, an ex- convict and a resident of said place, shot and wounded by his elder brother identified as Onopre Carpio y Lanipa, 56 years old, married, farmer and a resident of same place with the use of improvised Caliber 5.56MM Pistol.

 
Victim sustained gunshot wound on his leg and was rushed to Zamboanga City Medical Center for medical treatment, while suspect immediately escaped and fled towards unknown direction.
Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident the brothers were having a heated argument as to who is the owner of bamboo trees, when suspect suddenly shot the victim.
Operation was conducted by Zamboanga City Police Station 1, (Vitali) at the residence of the suspect , thus, resulted to his arrest.
Recovered from suspect was the firearm used in the commission of the crime.
Suspect is presently detained at the detention cell of Zamboanga City Police Station 1 detention cell, while appropriate charges will be filed in court filed against him in court.
