A SEXAGENARIAN is fighting for his life after he was stabbed by a drunk neighbor in Cardona, Rizal.

Senior Insp. Zamora, Cardona chief of police, said Fortunato Punzalan, 63, of San Juan St., Bgy. Dalig, sustained stab wounds in the stomach.

The incident happened at 3:25 p.m. while the victim and his friends Victor, Arnel and Longge were drinking lambanog at the public lounge when the drunk suspect, Juanito Doritan, 51, appeared. 

The suspect asked the group for a shot of the lambanog which the latter agreed. Minutes later, he  left and came back after 10 minutes and suddenly stabbed the victim in the stomach.

The victim was rushed to the hospital while the suspect was nabbed by police and barangay tanods.

The suspect was detained and will be charged with frustrated homicide.
