BATANGAS CITY, Philippines–A security officer died while undergoing treatment at the San Juan District Hospital after he was shot by two unidentified gunmen Tuesday afternoon, police said Wednesday.

 Senior Superintendent Alberto Supapo, Batangas police director, said, Elmer Lacdao, 36, was having a drinking spree with friends near his house in Barangay (village) Sampiro, San Juan, Batangas at around 5:30 p.m. when the two armed men appeared and shot him for no apparent reason.

Police said the suspects fled with the gun of an unknown caliber.

Lacdao suffered two bullet wounds in the chest.
