MANILA – Two security guards who were both on duty were fired upon by still unidentified suspects in Barangay Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City early Sunday.

Victim Michael Deguira, who suffered two gunshot wounds in his abdomen, was declared dead on the spot, while the other victim, who was identified as Carlos dela Cruz, was immediately rushed to the Philippine General Hospital in Manila City.

“Ginising ako ng mga kapit bahay tapos sabi nila yung mga kasamahan daw ng asawa ko dito pinagbabaril daw yung isa patay na yung isa naghihingalo pa,” said resident Eliiza Quillano.

“Nakita ko pa si dela Cruz nakahandusay, naghihingi nag tulong kaso hindi nila magalaw,” she added.

Resident Richmond Pablo, for his part, said he heard several gunshots at around 1 a.m. on Sunday. Pablo said he rushed to the barangay hall to ask for help after the incident.

“Tinatanong siya nung nagbuhat sa kanya, tinatanong siya kung kilala niya yung bumaril sa kanya. Sabi niya oo daw kilala niya daw. Tinanong kung kasamahan niya, sabi niya kasamahan daw niya,” Pablo said.
