DIGOS CITY, Philippines – A schoolmaster was killed here Thursday morning by motorcycle-riding gunmen, authorities said.

Senior Superintendent Ronald dela Rosa, Davao del Sur police commander, said Angelito Margate, school principal of Kiblawan National High School, was on his motorcycle when he was shot dead by one of two gunmen past 9 a.m.

The police official said Margate was cruising along Bataan St. toward the downtown area when fired upon by the assailants.

The victim sustained multiple gun shot wounds in the body and died instantly, Dela Rosa said.

Police were still conducting an investigation.

On Wednesday, unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen also shot dead a village chief of Kiblawan town here.
