A FURNITURE firm owner was wounded in a shooting incident in barangay Balungag, San Fernando town, southern Cebu on Friday night.

Rehnel Relos, 34, was drinking with friends when four men arrived and fired at them.

The assailants fled after the attack.

Relos, who was wounded in the left arm, was rushed to the South General Hospital.

Responding police recovered three empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol and five empty shells of .30 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Aside from personal grudges, PO1 Lauro Laurel of the San Fernando police said the attack could also be politically motivated.

Police are checking reports that Relos and his friends were employed by a politician in the town.

His three companions were identified as Elmer Baroy, Juan Larino and simeon Aton./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL . BONJOC
