MANILA, Philippines – A rookie policeman on Sunday accused a barangay chair and another official of handcuffing, mauling and threatening him inside a barangay hall in Manila Saturday night after he sought their help in transporting a robber he had arrested.
The alleged victim, Police Officer 1 Aries Gonzales, assigned with the Regional Public Safety Battalion in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City, filed a complaint with the Manila Police District General Assignment Section (MPD-GAS) against Barangay 72 Zone 9 chair Alfonso Arcilla, 37, of the Model Community in Tondo; and Barangay 72 Zone 9 treasurer Ruperto Paredes Jr., of Cristobal Street, also in Tondo.
