RIDING-in-tandem robbers seem to be “untouchable” in Mandaluyong City with their latest victim, a security guard, killed yesterday morning.
Police identified the victim as Jose Roble, 37, security guard of Invest Security Agency, of 12th St., New Manila, Quezon City.
Roble died on the spot from a gunshot wound in the face that went through his back.
SPO2 Edmund Fabella, of the Criminal Investigation Unit, said the incident happened at 4 a.m. inside the under-construction S&R Shopping Center on Laurel St., Shaw Blvd.
According to Alex Gabino, company driver, he was drinking coffee when the suspects on board a black Yamaha Mio Soul without plate number suddenly arrived.
The back rider alighted from the vehicle, approached Roble, drew his cal. .45 revolver and shot him.
When the victim fell on the floor, the suspect took his 12-gauge shotgun and his belongings.
The suspects immediately fled.
Last Nov. 6, a woman on her way to a birthday party was also shot dead by riding-in-tandem gunmen when she refused to yield her bag in Bgy. Mauway, Mandaluyong City.
On Nov. 10, at around 11:45 p.m., victim Ricardo Namocatcat, 33, operations manager, was also shot by riding- in-tandem suspects during a robbery-holdup.
Residents blamed the Mandaluyong police for “their inaction against riding-in-tandem robbers.”
