A resident of Recodo was killed while another was wounded in two separate gun attacks last Monday night and yesterday morning.
The fatality was identified as Dante Poning y Ilan, 38, married, of Recodo. Wounded was Maad Atih, 49, of Lustre, Sta. Catalina.
Initial investigation disclosed that Poning was resting in their house around 8 p.m., when a gunman crept in and shot him at close range. He sustained a gunshot wound in the head and died on the spot.
The gunman escaped.
Atih was riding on a motorcycle on his way home before 12 noon when an unidentified man aboard another motorcycle appeared and shot him near his house.
The gunman sped away after the incident while the victim was taken to a hospital.
