MANILA – A radio announcer was abducted in Candelaria, Quezon before dawn on Sunday.
Jenny Glifonea, a broadcaster from Radio dzAT in Lucena City, was forcibly taken by two armed men while she was eating at a food stall in Barangay Poblacion.
Witnesses said the armed men, whose faces were covered with handkerchiefs, forced Glifonea towards a silver Toyota Innova.
Police have yet to determine whether Glifonea’s abduction is election-related.
Authorities said Glifonea is known for her commentaries against illegal gambling activities in the town. – report from Johnny Glorioso, dzMM
