Police hunt killer of three family members in Cavite

MANILA, Jan. 11 – Cavite police has launched a manhunt against an assailant who shot dead three members of a family and wounded two others in Silang, Cavite Sunday evening.

 

Supt. Danilo Buentipo, Silang, Cavite police chief identified the fatalities as businessman Mario Aboga, 39, his wife Evangelina, 43, and son Gieromar, 18.

Buentipo said the victims died while being rushed to a a hospital after sustaining several gunshot wounds in the body.

The couple’s other son Johngie and neighbor Christy Fuentes were both wounded.

Buentipo said the assailant, who was armed with a 9mm pistol and clad in a camouflage jacket, was first seen lurking in a dark alley near where the Aboga couple lived in Barangay Yakal at around 9 p.m.

When the couple walked by, the assailant fired an undetermined number of gunshots at them. The victims’ sons rushed to their parents but were also gunned down, including Fuentes who was standing near the scene of crime.

The unidentified gunman fled after the attack. Buentipo said they were looking into personal grudge as a motive in the shooting. (PNA)RMA/JCA
