The Sangali police on order of City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo have forwarded murder and frustrated murder cases against five men who killed an old man and wounded his grandson last week.
De Ocampo identified the suspects as Abdul Salikala, Jamar Asani, Tuttuh Asani, Amman Salikala and Ismael Asani, all residents of Sangali.
A police report disclosed that the five suspects were positively identified by witnesses in sworn statements that were used in the filing of the charges.
The suspects remain at large but the police is optimistic they will be arrested as soon the court will issue warrants of arrest.
To recall, last August 24 around 6:30 p.m., Abdul Asani and his grandson Halid Asani, 7, were walking along a dimly lit area where they their pastured their cattle when the suspects surfaced and one of them shot Abdul and Halid.
The older Asani died on the spot while his grandson was taken to the hospital for treatment after he sustained bullet wounds in the body.
The suspects escaped after the incident but they were recognized by witnesses.
