CAMP Simeon Ola, Legazpi City — A police Intelligence officer of the Daraga Municipal Police Station (MPS) was shot dead by unidentified suspects in his residence in Purok 4, Malabog, Daraga, Albay at 7 a.m. Monday.

The Police Regional Office 5 identified the victim as SPO2 Elmer Lofamia, head of the Daraga Police Intelligence section.

Reportedly Lofamia was found by his daughter lying in a pool of blood with a bullet wound in the right temple.

The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at Bicol Regional Teaching and Training Hospital in Legazpi City.

A SOCO team recovered at the scene (3rd floor of the victim’s residence) a 9mm  Baretta, a magazine with 13 live ammunition, a spent shell and a deformed slug for the gun.

Police have yet to establish the motive behind the cop’s slaying.
