A Filipina commercial model was beaten to death by her American husband after a domestic quarrel at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Makati City.

Aiko Baniqued Moore, 28, was rushed to Makati Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead by the attending physician at 6:09 p.m. 

Her husband, James Edward Moore II, 32, was arrested by elements of the Tourist Protection Unit of the Makati police inside their rented unit at 23-46 Amorsolo St., West Condominium, Bgy. Poblacion, after he tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat. He was later brought to Ospital ng Makati.

Homicide investigator SPO1 Rico Caramat said the incident was witnessed by the victim’s niece and personal assistant.

Witnesses told police that they saw the suspect hit her in different parts of her body and banged her head on the wall.

“Nakatakbo na nga sanang patakas ang biktima pero hinabol pa siya ng asawa at nang maa-butan malapit sa elevator ay muling pinag-uumpog ang ulo sa pa-der,” police said.

The beating was only stopped after security personnel of the condominium responded and called up an ambulance for the victim.

Parricide charges will be filed against the suspect before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
