LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Pandemonium broke loose inside a passenger bus bound for Manila when its driver was fatally shot by one of the passengers past 4 p.m. Saturday.
The incident happened along the national highway when the Five Star Bus bound for Pasay City from Anda pulled over in Barangay Tara, Bolinao, Pangasinan at 4:07 p.m.
The victim identified as Ariel Capiral, driver, and a resident of Barangay Aweli, Anda, was shot by one of two men who boarded at the bus terminal in Poblacion, Anda.
Robert Cacho, 30, a resident of Roxas, Anda and conductor of the bus, told the police the two unidentified men were seated at the back of the driver and were issued a trip ticket from Anda to Barangay Tiep, Bani.
But upon reaching Barangay Tara, Bolinao, both suspects told the driver to pull over. While one of them asked the conductor to get their baggage placed on the luggage area, the other suspect brought out his firearm and shot victim on the head at close range.
The two men fled on foot westward toward a mountainous area of the barangay heading bringing along their weapon. They are now being pursued by lawmen.
Motive of the incident is still undetermined but police hinted it could be love triangle.
