MANILA, Philippines—A Pasig councilor was wounded when an unidentified gunman shot him on Wednesday morning in Pasig City, police said.

Councilor Robert Benito was rushed to a nearby hospital after the shooting incident on Eusebio Avenue, Barangay (village) San Miguel in Pasig City at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday, Senior Superintendent Alfredo Calama-an, deputy head of the Eastern Police District, said over the phone.
