A house painter was killed after the father of his live-in partner stabbed him repeatedly when he failed to give him money to buy liquor Wednesday night in Caloocan City.

Dead on arrival at the President Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Medical Center (PDMMMC) was Erwin Estanislao, 29, of Phase 10-A, Package 2, Block 22, Lot 2, Bagong Silang.

The suspect, Romenano Pineda, 40, escaped. He will be charged with homicide before the City Prosecutor’s Office.

A report said Pineda was already drunk when he went home at 10:30 p.m. Estanislao was there.

He asked Estanislao for money but the latter told him that it was not yet their payday.

The suspect fumed, triggering a heated argument between them. The suspect then took a knife and attacked the victim. He then escaped before neighbors arrived.
