A 40-year-old painter was killed right after dinner the other night.

Dead on arrival at the hospital was Jul Damil, of 1289 C. Tuazon St., Malate, Manila.

A probe by SPO3 Glenzor Vallejo of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section showed that the incident happened at around  11 p.m. on Road 1, F. Muñoz St. in Singa-long, Malate.

The victim’s wife Lolita, 38, said her husband hurriedly ate that evening and then said he would meet a certain ‘Aweng’  on nearby Meding Street. 

Lolita said a few minutes later, frantic  neighbors came knocking at her door saying her husband had been shot.

Reportedly, the victim was walking on the street when a man shot him in the head from behind.

The unidentified suspect fled on foot.
