An eight-year-old girl and her father were killed while her mother was wounded in a road gun attack in Sta. Catalina last Saturday night.
A police report identified the fatalities as Shoji Muhammad and his daughter Mujahida. Wounded was Dayatra Muhammad, a public school teacher in Mampang. Their four-year old son Mudzhar miraculously escaped unhurt.
Sources said the victims were related to the Amping clan of Talon-Talon and investigators were checking if Saturday’s gun attack was related to the the running violent feud between the Ampings and another family from Mampang.
Initial investigation disclosed that the Muhammad family was riding on a motorcycle driven by Shoji on their way home to Talon-Talon when the gun attack took place.
Witnesses told the police that when the Muhammad family’s motorcycle approached a secluded area in Sta. Catalina, two men riding tandem on another motorcycle sidled up and the backrider opened fire on them.
The gunmen sped away towards Kasanyangan after the motorcycle of the Muhammad family crashed on the road. Mudzhar narrowly escaped death.
Shoji and Mujahida sustained bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot while Dayatra suffered slight bullet wound in the body and was taken to the hospital.
Witnesses did not recognize any of the two killers as they were wearing fully closed crash helmets.
City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin Deocampo disclosed that his men have conducted immediate investigation and follow-up operation for the arrest of the killers.
